; an American Legion Post 99 Facility
Post 99
and its predecessor Posts 158 and 399 have roots here reaching from the
1930s. In 2001, its leaders entered into an extensive remodeling project,
now complete. The American Legion is a veterans organization that was
created in 1919 shortly after World War I and chartered by Congress.
The American Legion supports youth and environmental programs that
benefit the community, in addition to providing support and program
participation to our community veterans and those at area Veterans Affairs
hospitals. Income received from membership dues, hall rentals and donations
are the principal sources of financing to support these programs and
maintain our hall for the use of its members and the general public.
